Spend a day at Faunia, Madrid's habitat-based zoo in Vicálvaro. Wander through polar and jungle zones, step into the lemur enclosure, and catch the animal activities along the way.
Full description
Faunia is a compact zoo-style park on Madrid's eastern edge, organised around recreated habitats, including polar and tropical jungle environments. Visitors can walk among free-roaming lemurs and prairie dogs, and the layout gives the sense of exploring rather than just looking through bars.
Reviewers say most of the park can be covered in around three hours, though a relaxed visit with shows and animal activities easily fills half a day. It is closed on Mondays and works well for families with children, particularly outside the hottest part of the afternoon.

Different kind of zoo, we enjoyed it. Not a big zoo but it is packed with interesting animals and the way they build it makes you feel like an explorer. Lemur cage is a plus, you can walk right in and bee woth them. Must see for families. Be warned: lots of walking and backtracking to see everything.
