Food
Rochelle Canteen operates out of a genuinely unusual building — a former bike shed in an old school playground — and trades on daily-changing, seasonal British cooking rather than spectacle. What stands out in reviews isn't a single dish so much as the feeling of a small team still fully present in their own restaurant, cooking and serving with real care. Rated 4.4 and skewing toward lunch service only, it's a hidden-gem pick for a relaxed midday meal rather than an evening destination, and its high local score reflects a loyal neighbourhood following. It suits a leisurely lunch with a friend or a quiet solo visit more than a big celebration.

What people say
"Absolutely outstanding. My wife and I had an incredible experience at Rochelle Canteen from the moment we arrived. The ambience is truly special, with real grapevines draping across the roof and creating such a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere. The food was unbelievable throughout, particularly the crab salad and pork belly main, which were both exceptional. The biggest highlight, though, was our host and waitress, Hope. She made us feel so welcome with her warmth, professionalism and genuinely brilliant recommendations. She really elevated the whole experience and deserves special recognition. A truly memorable meal and one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve had in London. We’ll definitely be back."
