Food
Mangal 2 sits in Dalston, an area reviewers describe as genuinely buzzing on a night out, and the restaurant itself has built a loyal following around confident, flavourful Turkish grill cooking. One reviewer travelled from York specifically to eat there and still rates the experience years later, which speaks to the kind of destination status it's earned locally. At 4.2 stars, mid-range pricing, and a strong local score, it suits a lively evening out — dinner with a partner or group before exploring the surrounding bars and nightlife. It's less about fine-dining polish and more about genuinely good grilled food in an atmospheric setting.

What people say
"Travelled to London from York to visit with my wife, this was 2 years ago so I apologise for the late review but our experience in the restaurant has stood out as one of the best we've had and felt it necessary to post a review albeit a bit late. We went specifically for the lunch menu and were not disappointed, standouts were the delicious sourdough flatbreads that I couldn't stop ordering and the chicken wing that was impressively deboned, stuffed with dolma filling (if I remember correctly) and grilled to perfection. The dessert, a rhubarb baklava with a thick slice of vanilla ice cream between the pastry top and bottom was heavenly. I love Turkish food (sorry to my Hungarian heritage) and I loved what they were doing, and continue to do. We really look forward to revisiting."
