Durak Tantuni

4.6 (950)$ · Budget-friendly

Durak Tantuni has built its entire identity around a single Turkish street-food specialty, thinly sliced spiced meat wrapped in flatbread, prepared with a focus and consistency that reviewers say more restaurants juggling bigger menus rarely achieve. It's cash-only and unmistakably no-frills, located along West Green Road in an area known for its strong Turkish food scene. At 4.6 stars and budget-friendly pricing, it's ideal for a fast, cheap, and genuinely satisfying meal, suited to solo diners or small groups looking for an authentic, single-focus specialty rather than a broad menu. Its high hidden-gem and local scores reflect a spot loved by locals more than tourists, for now.

What people say

"Must visit place in London if you love food. It's cash only! They serve one dish and one dish only, how many places like that you can find? Everything is prepared fresh and made-to-order. They even have their own Aryan. Filling of wrap: lamb, chopped tomatoes, onions, parsley, bit of salt, chili, that's all. Simplicity at its best. Wrap itself is rather dry, paper-like in touch, which was surprising but it's served with peppers and lemons, so you can squeeze a juice out of it. Owner is great, truly local legend from what I've managed to spot when sitting inside. Wish him all the best in those hard for hospitality times. One wrap is not enough if you'd like a proper lunch but as a filling snack it works fine. Honestly I'm surprised how good it was, it's delicate flavours, no sauces, just a little juice from the fry pan he uses for meat. Decor is very simple, lots of seats inside, gives me fish&chips store vibes. Highest recommendation from me."
