Puppet Museum

4.6 ·

Wander into the Puppet Museum, a quirky Lisbon stop devoted to the Portuguese marionette and the art of puppetry. See the main collection, then browse the temporary exhibition and its stop-motion section.

📖

Full description

The Puppet Museum focuses on Portuguese marionettes and the development of puppetry as a theatrical art form. A main exhibition is complemented by temporary displays, including one on stop-motion that reviewers particularly enjoyed.

Visitors describe it as an underrated stop, artistic, a little eerie and affordable, with a code to scan for extra content. Expect to spend around an hour, though some take up to two.

A higher-priced ticket covers both the main and temporary exhibits, and low walking effort makes it an easy addition to a day in Lisbon.

Reviews

Dragged my husband to this and was super glad we stopped. Paid for the higher priced ticket to see the main exhibit plus the temporary one. Really enjoyed the temporary one and the stop motion portion they had at the end of the permanent exhibit. Definitely worth a stop if you’re looking for something unique and off…
