📖

Full description

Tron Kirk Market occupies a repurposed church on the Royal Mile, built under Royal Master Mason John Mylne between 1637 and 1647 and blending Dutch, Gothic and Palladian styles. Today it hosts stalls selling artwork, gifts and small crafts, with reviewers mentioning everything from wall art to dog bandanas.

Visitors appreciate that the building's character has been preserved. It can get crowded at peak times, so arriving off-peak makes browsing easier.

Entry is free and 30 minutes covers a look at the stalls and the architecture.

Reviews

Just happened upon this beautiful former church. As I’ve seen often in the UK, churches that have been converted into homes or business or markets like in this case. So glad they preserved the beauty of this former church. The stained glass and ceiling detail are still magnificent. Worth a visit and highly recommended
