Full description

Sandy Bell's is a compact, welcoming pub a short walk from the Royal Mile, just far enough off the tourist trail to feel like a true local. It is known for its real ales, plentiful single malts and informal folk music sessions that run most nights, where musicians gather and play as friends would.

Reviewers say it is easy to start chatting with regulars and that the music adds a lively, communal feel. It is a good fit for an afternoon pint or a longer evening of whisky and tunes.

Reviews

Canny little local with live band playing. Great selection of beers, I popped in on my way back from the art gallery. The place is very welcoming and I got chatting to locals staright away who were very friendly. I only stopped for one but could have stopped for more, if I'm back in the area I would definitely drop…
