Spend a day at Edinburgh Zoo, a hillside parkland in Corstorphine with generous animal enclosures. Join keeper talks, try hands-on animal encounters and hop on the free hilltop safari ride.
Full description
Edinburgh Zoo is a sprawling parkland zoo in the Corstorphine area, set across a hill of roughly 83 acres, so a visit involves a good deal of climbing and takes around three hours or more. Reviewers note that the animals have generous space rather than cramped enclosures, and praise the educational and interactive elements.
Keeper talks and hands-on animal encounters run through the day, and free hilltop safari rides help with the steeper sections. It is a strong choice for families and anyone happy to spend a half day outdoors.
