Discover John Kavanagh The Gravediggers, a 1833 Glasnevin pub with a weathered wooden bar. Pull up a seat for a pint of Guinness and a plate of home-cooked coddle among locals.
Full description
John Kavanagh The Gravediggers is an old-school pub in Glasnevin that dates from 1833 and keeps its weathered wooden bar and unfussy character. It sits a little outside the city centre, which suits visitors looking for a local feel rather than a tourist crowd.
There is a bar section and a separate restaurant section, with reviewers praising the home-cooked food, including coddle and mussels and prawns, alongside a carefully poured Guinness. On sunny days the crowd often spills out onto the street.

Great experience, thoroughly enjoyed our time. The food was great specially the Coddle and the mussels and prawns. I don't know why Irish people diss coddle so much that was the best Irish dish I've tried. I'll definitely be back for more. Guinness was amazing as well.
