Iveagh Gardens

4.7 ·

Find Iveagh Gardens, a quiet 19th-century garden tucked away behind Harcourt Street. Wander past fountains, admire the rose garden, and enjoy the calm of this overlooked city-centre retreat.

📖

Full description

Iveagh Gardens were designed in 1865 by Ninian Niven and sit almost hidden between busy Harcourt Street and the National Concert Hall, near St Stephen's Green. Mostly restored since 1995, they gather a distinctive mix of garden landscapes, including fountains and a rose garden, and visitors describe them as quaint, quiet and easy to miss, even for long-time residents.

Entry is free, and hours are daytime. A visit takes around thirty minutes with very little walking, which makes it an easy addition to a city-centre route.

Reviews

Loved the gardens. I've been living in Dublin for 55 years and I only wandered in 2 weeks ago for the first time. A real hidden gem. The amount of times I've passed the Iveagh Gardens and not known where it was is unreal. Can't wait to go back again soon.
