Slip through the iron gates of Blessington Street Basin, a hidden pocket of calm in Phibsborough. Circle the small lake, pause on a bench, and enjoy a quiet break away from the city bustle.

📖

Full description

Blessington Street Basin is a small, enclosed park built around a former reservoir, tucked at the end of an ordinary residential street behind iron gates. A path circles the water, with benches along the edge and a Tudor-style house visible on the right as you enter.

Reviewers describe it as a quiet escape from traffic and noise, and several call it a hidden gem. It is a short stop of about twenty minutes with minimal walking, best suited to a calm break rather than a full outing.

Some visitors note that seating can be messy because of the pigeons.

Reviews

Lovely oasis in the city. Seems to be the dividing landmark between the dumpy part of the city and the nicer residential area. Not many places to sit though as most areas are covered in pigeon poop.
