Escape to Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, perched by the water at Humlebæk. Wander indoor galleries and outdoor sculpture-park lawns, take in temporary shows, and pause at the cafe before heading back by train.
Full description
Louisiana sits on the coast at Humlebæk and combines international art from 1945 to today with a sculpture park and rotating temporary shows. Its buildings are arranged as a sequence of themed areas, some of them outdoors, and open lawns invite visitors to relax between galleries.
Reviewers praise the thoughtful layout and the cafe's cakes, and many spend most of a day here. The easy train ride from the city makes it a natural half-day or full-day excursion.

Reviews
Amazing museum! Got there around 10:30, stayed until 4 pm. So much grass space for relaxing or kids playing, several really interesting exhibits to keep you entertained inside for hours. Can bring food, drink, blankets in, can buy tickets day of, easy to walk to from train station (signs make it obvious). Highly…
