Step into Pingrumba, a leafy Middle Eastern hideaway near Széll Kálmán tér. Share hummus, roasted sweet potato and lamb kebab in a dimly lit room that feels far prettier than its street front suggests.

📖

Full description

Pingrumba is a Middle Eastern-leaning restaurant in Buda's II. district, a short walk from Széll Kálmán tér. Reviewers say the street frontage undersells the interior, which is decorated with plenty of plants and turns romantic after dark with dimmed lighting.

Dishes mentioned include lamb kebab, roasted sweet potato and hummus, alongside Cockta as a drink. The big central table is the loudest spot and also the liveliest, while quieter tables suit couples.

Mid-range prices and no booking requirement make it an easy lunch or dinner stop, with a typical visit around 75 minutes.

Good to know

  • Walk in without booking, but go inside rather than judging by the facade
  • ask for the big central table if you want buzz, or a side table for a quieter, candlelit feel
  • the lamb kebab and hummus are the dishes reviewers name

Reviews

Awesome experience! The outside is not as pretty as the inside. So go in for sure! We sat in the middle big table which was the loudest place but with the best atmosphere and vibe 🧡 Great food, cocktails and service! Also a rather big corner for the kids!
