Walk Óbuda Island, the leafy Danube home of the Sziget festival. Follow quiet paths under blossoming trees and enjoy wide lawns and calm river air away from the busy centre.
Full description
Óbuda Island is a wooded island in the Danube in District III, best known as the site of the annual Sziget festival. Outside festival time it is a quiet, open green space with wide lawns and blossoming trees, popular with dog owners, parents with children, couples and solo walkers.
Reviewers call it gorgeous and peaceful, though one notes there is little to see without an event on. A walk takes about an hour, access is free and round the clock, and the best moments are morning and early evening when it is calm.

It's called the Island of Freedom. It's famous for the Sziget festival which happens every year on this island. Without any festival, there is nothing worth watching.
