Little Princess Statue

4.6 ·

Meet the Little Princess, Budapest's tiny bronze girl perched above the Danube. Snap a photo with her paper crown, then continue along the riverside promenade.

📖

Full description

The Little Princess is a diminutive bronze sculpture by László Marton, created in 1972 and inspired by the artist's eldest daughter playing princess with a crown made from a newspaper. She sits on the railing of the Danube promenade in Pest, feet dangling, appearing unbothered by passing trams and strollers.

Reviewers describe it as a pleasant, quick stop rather than a destination in itself, best enjoyed as part of a longer walk along the riverfront with its restaurants and views. Its size makes it easy to miss if you are not looking for it.

Reviews

A nice statue right on the Danube. There is no need to go especially to see the statue in my opinion. The entire promenade itself next to the Danube with many restaurants. The street is clean and pleasant.
