Liberty Bridge

Cross Liberty Bridge, the green Art Nouveau span that ties Buda to Pest. Walk its length to spot the mythological Turul sculptures and enjoy open views along the Danube.

📖

Full description

Liberty Bridge spans the Danube between Gellért Square on the Buda side and the Great Market Hall area in Pest. Its bright green iron structure is decorated with Art Nouveau details, including mythological sculptures of the Turul bird perched on the pylons.

The crossing is open at all hours and is a straightforward way to move between the two halves of the city while taking in river views. It is short enough to cross in a few minutes, and many visitors pair it with the nearby market hall or the Gellért baths.
