Head up János-hegy, Budapest's highest peak, by chairlift or on foot. Follow wooded paths to the lookout tower and enjoy the sweeping views from the top.
Full description
János-hegy rises to 528 metres, making it the highest point in Budapest, and is crowned by a lookout tower. There are two main ways up: the chairlift followed by a short hike, or driving to a car park and walking about 2.5 kilometres to the top.
The upper floors of the tower give wide views, though visitors have found access closed during construction, so it is worth checking before going. Paths and forest make the hill attractive for a quiet, roughly 90-minute outing.

Nice area. But the entry to the towers is closed and without going to the lookout upper floors you cannot see any view. The building is nice on the outside, but not sure it’s worth the visit. Shorter access on trial is a bit difficult (but only a couple hundred meters) however there is an easier access, which is a bit…
