Hike up Hármashatárhegy in the Buda Hills for forest paths and open slopes. Reach the old bunker lookout and take in views toward the Danube and the city.
Full description
Hármashatárhegy is a hill in District III, part of the Buda Hills, reached for its hiking trails and wide panoramas. Wooded paths and open slopes lead to a viewing tower remodelled from a WWII bunker, where the Danube and the city come into view.
Waymarks and maps along the trails help with navigation, and some sections are steep while most stay manageable. The open, windy slopes also attract gliders, adding to its local character.
It suits a 90-minute outing for those who want views and exercise.

Reviews
Hotspot for gliders due to its beautiful scenery and windy nature. Really huge open places raging from flat and walkable distances as well as slopes and hils (not to tiresome) Ideal for families and nature lovers. Tends to be a bit crowded when the weather is nicer. Real sanctuary for Budapest!
