Ride the Children's Railway through the Buda Hills, a scenic line run largely by children. Travel the full route in about 40 minutes, or hop off to hike through the forest and rejoin a later train.
Full description
The Children's Railway runs through the wooded Buda Hills in the II. district, and its operation is largely staffed by children who handle tasks usually done by adult railway crew. Visitors ride the line for roughly 30 to 40 minutes between the terminal stations, and some get off to hike in the forest before catching another train.
Reviewers mention polite, English-speaking young staff and the pleasant natural surroundings. The museum element adds railway history, and the budget-friendly entry suits families.
It is a quirky, low-key half-day outing away from the city centre.

Reviews
It was so great experience for us and kids. It took about 30-40 mins from the first to the end station. You can also get out from train and hiking to forest and back to train to continue!
