Step inside the Musée René Magritte Museum, the quiet Jette house where the Surrealist actually lived and worked. Browse his paintings, photographs and film works, plus the personal objects and drawings that shaped his world.
Full description
The Musée René Magritte Museum occupies the modest house in Jette where the Surrealist painter lived with his wife for years, away from the city centre. Visitors see paintings, drawings, photographs and film works, along with objects Magritte collected, which give a sense of the man behind the bowler-hatted imagery.
Reviewers value the domestic setting and the story of the couple more than any blockbuster display, though they also note it is not a top-tier site. The entrance is slightly confusing, and a visit takes about 45 minutes.
