Atomium

4.4 ·

Ride into the Atomium, Brussels' unmistakable steel atom rising above the Heysel plateau. Ascend through its linked spheres by escalator, browse the exhibitions and look out over the city from 92 metres.

📖

Full description

The Atomium is a monumental model of an iron crystal enlarged billions of times, its steel spheres joined by tubes that hold escalators and stairs. Visitors move through the spheres to see exhibitions and ride a lift to the top for views across Brussels from 92 metres.

Reviewers call it the symbol of Belgium and an easy photo subject, and note that it is reached by metro from the centre, followed by a short walk. The restaurant draws mixed comments, so the structure and the views are the main reasons to go.

Booking ahead is recommended.

Reviews

Cool tourist spot to visit if you like architectural design and photography 📸 ver cool spot for pictures. We did visit the restaurant and I don't recommend it food was very upscale microwaved tv dinner. The website does say not to visit between 10-3:30 as it's peek hrs but it wasnt bad and the lines to the lift…
