Viktoria Park

ā˜… 4.5 (12,871)Free

Viktoria Park in Kreuzberg is built around an artificial waterfall that tumbles down the Kreuzberg hill, culminating at a national monument commemorating the Napoleonic Wars at the summit, from which visitors take in one of the city's best sunset panoramas. The sound of falling water and the elevated views give it a distinct, almost theatrical character compared to Berlin's flatter parks. A 4.5 rating and high aesthetic score point to a park that consistently exceeds expectations for a relatively compact green space.

✨ Reasons to go

  • 1The park's artificial waterfall cascades down Kreuzberg hill, the highest natural point in central Berlin at the time it was built
  • 2A national monument commemorating the Napoleonic Wars stands at the summit, overlooking the waterfall
  • 3The hill is named 'Kreuzberg' (cross mountain) after the iron cross atop this monument

šŸ’” Good to know

  • 1Time your visit for golden hour to catch the sunset from the top of the hill
  • 2it's free to visit
  • 3the waterfall is most impressive after recent rain, so check conditions if that's the draw

What people say

"Best park I’ve ever seen before. The waterfall was so relaxing to hear and a beautiful part of the park. This park also hosts the best views of the sunset you can watch in Berlin from the monument with plenty of space, which were epic! Lots of greenery, plenty of open grass spaces to see the sunset, and the water was cold and beautiful from the waterfall. They also had a Stadion, a playground, and a beer garten on site to make the place even more appealing and fun. Highly recommend stopping by and checking out this magnificent park!"
