Full description
The Soviet War Memorial in Treptower Park was built in the late 1940s over the mass graves of roughly 7,000 Red Army soldiers killed in the Battle of Berlin, anchored by a monumental bronze statue of a Soviet soldier cradling a child while crushing a swastika underfoot. The site is laid out on an imposing scale — a long approach past kneeling-figure statues and stone reliefs depicting the war — yet reviewers describe it as restrained rather than bombastic, and unusually peaceful for its size.
Free to enter and set within a quiet stretch of park, it rewards visitors interested in WWII history with a side of the story rarely emphasized in Western memorials. A 4.7 rating suggests it leaves a strong impression even on those not specifically seeking it out.

Reviews
Absolutely must see for all those with interest in WW2. The memorial is very spread out, but not over the top- its actually muted & rather classic. Lots of sculpture and bass reliefs to see. Must visit if you can. Major major combat ops ended with this Memorial. Very Well done
