Shopping/markets
KaDeWe — short for Kaufhaus des Westens, or "department store of the West" — has been a Berlin landmark for over a century, its many floors covering fashion, beauty, and homeware before culminating in a sprawling gourmet food hall on the top floor that reviewers single out as the highlight of any visit. It draws an enormous number of visitors, reflected in over 64,000 reviews and a strong 4.3 rating, and its near-perfect must-see score confirms its place as an essential Berlin sight as much as a shopping stop. With a very low hidden-gem score, it's firmly on every visitor's radar rather than a discovery.

What people say
"This place has everything you need and you may never want to leave. Even if you don't buy it is a wonderful experience. The 6th floor food hall has beautifully displayed wines and champagnes from €15-150, cheeses to sample and savour, chocolates to drool over, a deli with unusual selections, an oyster and champagne bar, and even a cocktail bar with a live jazz combo. On the 7th floor is a self-service restaurant for your lunch requirements at reasonable prices. All the high-end brands are found here so browse to your heart's delight."
