Grunewald

4.7 (920)Free

Grunewald spreads across the city's southwest as Berlin's largest forested area, offering serious hiking routes — reviewers cite a full 12-kilometer trail taking four to six hours — alongside quieter lakes and photogenic woodland scenery. Its scale and relative wildness make it feel disconnected from the urban environment despite its proximity, a contrast many visitors find remarkable. A 4.7 rating, among the highest in this collection, and a modest review count together suggest a spot loved intensely by those who seek it out rather than a mainstream tourist stop.

What people say

"We did the 12 km hike it was supposed to take around 4-6 hours. It was a great experience and definitely worth doing at least once! Super fun overall. Pro tip: carry some food or snacks with you. One part of the trail was closed, but we still managed about 13 km and 19k steps totally enjoyed it!"
