Full description

The Berliner Dom rises over the Lustgarten on Museum Island as the city's largest church, completed in 1905 as a statement of imperial ambition under Kaiser Wilhelm II and rebuilt after severe wartime damage. Visitors can climb the dome's narrow staircase for panoramic views over central Berlin, explore the ornate main hall with its Sauer organ, and descend into the Hohenzollern crypt, where generations of Prussian royalty are buried.

An audio guide, including a version aimed at children, helps make sense of the layered history, and reviewers regularly cite the crypt as an unexpected highlight. With a 4.6 rating from over 47,000 reviews, it's one of the most visited sights on Museum Island and rewards at least an hour.

Reviews

Lovely cathedral with audio guide, including a kid version in English. Be sure to hit green button during any long pauses because they are giving you time to look. I forgot... So I missed some info in the amazing crypt. Take your time and enjoy.
