Entertainment/shows
Teatre Tívoli is one of Barcelona's larger historic theatres, built to a scale suited for major touring musicals, and it has drawn strong crowds for productions like The Phantom of the Opera performed in Spanish. Its 84 must-see score and 4.5 rating reflect real audience enthusiasm for the shows themselves, though reviews are notably split on the building's upkeep, with some calling the once-beautiful venue in need of better maintenance. It suits travelers chasing a specific big-name production more than those seeking a pristine, boutique theatre experience. Expect the drama to be on stage rather than in the surroundings.

"I visited Teatro Tívoli during my trip to Barcelona to see The Phantom of the Opera and it was an amazing experience. The theater itself is beautiful, and even though the place got totally packed, I had no trouble finding my seat or getting out after the show. I sat in the mezzanine (top level) and still had a clear view of the stage. The seat was comfortable and the staff friendly and professional. The audio was great too, it was really cool getting to experience the show entirely in Spanish! The only small downside was another patron taking pictures with their flash on toward the end, but it was just a minor annoyance and definitely didn't take away from how much I enjoyed the performance. Overall, great venue, fantastic show, highly recommend!"
