Full description

Poble Espanyol was constructed as a temporary showcase for the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition and never torn down, its 117 building facades reproducing real streets, squares, and monuments from every Spanish region in scale-for-scale detail. It's since evolved into a working craft village, with glassblowers, ceramicists, and other artisans occupying many of the buildings, plus restaurants and shops that give it a livelier, more commercial feel than a typical museum.

Reviews consistently flag the uphill walk to reach it and the views along the way as part of the experience. It's a good fit for visitors curious about Spain's regional diversity beyond Catalonia, especially families or those short on time to travel around the country.
