Güell Pavilions

4.0 (696)$ · Budget-friendly

Commissioned by Eusebi Güell in the 1880s as the entrance to his country estate, the pavilions include stables, a riding school, and the famous Drac de Ferro, a fearsome wrought-iron dragon gate guarding the property, one of Gaudí's earliest and most striking ironwork pieces. The estate later became part of the University of Barcelona's Pedralbes campus, so the maintained gardens and buildings feel more like a quiet academic corner of the city than a polished tourist attraction, which reviewers note both as charm and as reason for modest expectations. Entry is inexpensive, and the main draw remains the dragon gate itself, with the rest of the grounds a pleasant but lower-key add-on. It's a good stop for committed Gaudí fans rounding out the rest of his Barcelona work rather than a first-timer's priority.

What people say

"The house was under renovations when we went in October 2023, it’s located at the end corner of the park; was very lovely to see, park too was very beautiful. More lovely architecture if that’s your thing. I would definitely recommend checking it out. There’s no cost to enter the park or see the house."
