Dukes Bar

4.1 (243)$$$ · Expensive

Dukes Bar occupies a discreet corner of the Dukes London hotel and has long been known for its theatrical martini service, wheeled to the table and mixed to order with citrus reportedly sourced with particular care. It's a classic, old-school London hotel bar experience, favoured by regulars who return specifically for the ritual and the strong pours. Service quality draws mixed reactions in reviews, though the drinks themselves are consistently praised.

✨ Reasons to go

  • 1Martinis are mixed tableside from a wheeled trolley rather than made behind the bar
  • 2The lemons used for the martinis are reportedly sourced specifically from the Amalfi coast
  • 3Tradition holds that guests should limit themselves to two of the bar's notoriously strong martinis

💡 Good to know

  • 1Booking is recommended given its enduring popularity
  • 2order the signature martini for the full tableside experience
  • 3note the traditional guidance of limiting to two martinis given their strength.

What people say

"My fiancée and I have come every time we are in London. Service is great and the presentation is impressive. The famous martini cart has amazing lemons sourced from the Amalfi coast. Bottles of vodka and gin are frosty cold and glasses are filled to the brim. I also love the staff’s uniforms, definitely adds to the atmosphere. Great ambiance and great for a date. It is also cool to know that Ian Fleming used to write his James Bond novels here. You can walk in and we’ve never waited more than 5 minutes. Cocktails are pricey but worth it and with the experience."
