Food
merold runs a compact seven-course tasting menu, and reviewers single out the hake as a particular highlight worth the full multi-course commitment. Feedback on consistency varies, with one reviewer noting only one of five courses truly stood out even as the overall vibe and staff warmth impressed. At 4.7 stars across a modest 235 reviews, it's a smaller, lower-profile fine-dining room compared to some of its Neukölln neighbors. It's a good pick for diners curious about an intimate, still-developing tasting-menu concept.

What people say
"We had the 7-course dinner at Merold and it was absolutely fantastic — a true highlight of our time in Berlin. The standout dishes for me were the hake with hake caviar, the creative reinterpretation of shallot, buckwheat, and black garlic, the beautifully executed Spätzle and lentils, the house-made Bratwurst, and the tender rabbit dish. Every plate showed thoughtful technique, excellent ingredients, and real creativity while staying true to modern German roots. As a sommelier, I was especially impressed by the wine pairings. Being in Berlin, I discovered several outstanding German wines here that were completely new to me — the 2022 Heerkretz Sauvignon Blanc from Tomislav Markovic, the Niklas Rückrich Spätburgunder, and the Lingenfelder Satyr Blanc de Noirs were all exceptional. The pairing elevated the entire meal. A big thank you to Jonas and the whole team at Merold for the warm, knowledgeable service and such a memorable culinary experience. We’ll definitely be back!"
