Disfrutar

4.8 (3,790)$$$$ · Premium

Disfrutar was built by Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch, and Mateu Casañas, alumni of Ferran Adrià's legendary El Bulli, and it channels that same spirit of technical playfulness into a long, multi-hour tasting menu that regularly appears atop global best-restaurant rankings. At 4.8 stars from nearly 3,800 reviews with a must-see score of 100, it has near-unanimous acclaim, and its very high trendy and aesthetic scores reflect a restaurant built for spectacle as much as flavour. The experience runs long — plan on the better part of an afternoon or evening — and reservations are famously hard to secure. This is a bucket-list dining event rather than a casual meal.

What people say

"We had a 12.30 lunch booking. We arrived 3’ early but were a bit surprised to see people waiting outside -> it feels like the restaurant could have welcomed people in to sit even if they are not formally open yet (Barcelona can be quite hot). Overall the food is impressive and culinarily advanced. However, there were few dishes that were genuinely delightful. Advanced techniques ≠ delicious. Eg, there was a gelatine penne/carbonara dish, which while impressive (the penne is transparent) wasn’t finger-licking good. The wine pairing was nice but quite heavy. The food was good but portioned too largely, we took a break but still felt ready to burst with 5/~28 dishes remaining. There were no towels at the bathroom. Only tissue (which sticks to your hands). The staff were very attentive but didn’t look excited. One of the 3 chefs introduced himself which was a nice touch. Overall a good experience but not an impressive one - at that price point expectations are high."
