"Antic Teatre was one of the most surprising and memorable places we visited in Barcelona, mainly because you would never expect what’s hidden behind its simple exterior. We came here after seeing it featured in a German TV documentary and decided to add it to our map—and it absolutely lived up to the recommendation. From the outside, it looks quite unassuming, but once you step inside, you discover a completely different world: a beautiful open-air courtyard with a large old fig tree in the center. The seating is arranged around the tree, creating a calm, almost secret garden atmosphere right in the middle of the city. It really feels like a hidden oasis—green, quiet, and full of character, completely removed from the busy streets just outside. One of the highlights is the traditional vermouth service. We tried the black vermouth with olives, served the local way with an orange slice and olive inside, and it was excellent—simple, authentic, and very enjoyable."
