Gymkhana

4.4 (3,499)$$$$ · Premium

Gymkhana takes the aesthetic of an old British-Indian sporting club — dark wood, ceiling fans, hunting-trophy details — and pairs it with an ambitious Indian menu that goes well beyond typical curry-house fare. Reviewers frequently mention it as a long-anticipated bucket-list booking that lives up to the hype, praising both the decor and attentive service by name. At 4.4 stars, premium pricing, and nearly 3,500 reviews, it's a proven destination for a special dinner rather than a casual meal, with an evening-only rhythm that suits a night out more than lunch. It's a strong pick for a celebratory dinner with friends or a partner.

✨ Reasons to go

  • 1The interior recreates a 1920s British-Indian sporting club, complete with hunting-trophy details and ceiling fans.
  • 2The regional Indian menu extends well beyond typical curry-house dishes, with staff recommending lesser-known plates.

💡 Good to know

  • 1Booking is required well ahead, as tables are in high demand
  • 2go for dinner rather than a quieter lunch, since evening is when the room comes alive
  • 3ask staff for dish recommendations across the regional menu rather than sticking to familiar names

What people say

"Gymkhana OG has been on our bucket list for a while and we were elated when we managed to land a reservation during our last trip to London! And it lived up to our very high expectations. London is known for excellent, high end Indian cuisine and Gymkhana stands out even among that lot. Every appetizer, entree and dessert we had was delicious. My personal favorite was their khatta meetha baingan - a tasty sweet and sour eggplant dish cooked to perfection. Service was amazing and a special call out to Kishore for being a wonderful host to us. His warmth made us feel at home and made the experience even more special."
