Klunkerkranich occupies the roof of a shopping center in Neukölln, accessible via a lift that first-time visitors often find genuinely tricky to locate. Once up top, the reward is a sprawling rooftop space with a dance area, bar, and plenty of casual seating looking out over the Berlin skyline, best timed for sunset. It draws a large, mixed crowd of locals and visitors and has become one of the city's most popular open-air hangouts. No reservation is required, though arriving before sunset is wise given how busy it gets.

"This bar was recommended by a local friend as a place to enjoy a sunset view with the city skyline. It wasn’t easy to find. I had to take a lift from a shopping mall to the car park level, then walk up a bit to reach the entrance. There is also a EUR 5 entrance fee, which I found a little odd. The view was okay, but honestly nothing particularly special beyond what you can see in the photo."
