Shopping/markets
Castroni has long been a go-to stop for Romans seeking hard-to-find ingredients, its shelves stacked with Italian coffee, chocolate, pasta, and preserves alongside an unexpectedly broad selection of international products. Its strong local score and 4.6-star rating reflect a shop genuinely used by residents rather than one that exists mainly for visitors, even as its central Prati location makes it easy for travelers to fold into a shopping day. Reviewers consistently praise the sheer depth of the selection, particularly the tea and coffee offerings. A visit tends to be quick but productive, ideal for stocking up on edible souvenirs.

What people say
"I was very impressed by the selection this store offers. I was just looking for good tea and discovered another universe of options in there. My tea is excellent, so I recommend getting treats and gifts from here. It’s very well stocked, tidy and very clean. Also, the staff is very efficient and professional. I was lining up to pay and at the same time there were two other people that happened to check out too and only 1 cashier and immediately another person jumped on the register. Impressive, you don’t see that kind of initiative and pride in your service these days. Refreshing. 👏🙏🙏"
