Normah's

4.7 (799)$$ · Mid-range

Normah's operates from an unassuming spot inside Queensway market, and its reputation has grown almost entirely by word of mouth into one of London's hardest Malaysian restaurant bookings, with reviewers describing waits of months just to secure a table. What arrives is described as outstanding rather than merely good, living up to the difficulty of getting in. At 4.7 stars, mid-range pricing, and a very high hidden-gem score, it's a genuine reward for travellers willing to plan ahead rather than a casual walk-in option. It suits adventurous eaters looking for an authentic regional cuisine experience over polish or atmosphere.

What people say

"A fantastic little hole-in-the-wall Malaysian restaurant that's absolutely worth the wait—even if it took us months to secure a table. The food more than lived up to the hype, and the service was warm and attentive throughout our meal. We had the prawn laksa and the beef rendang with roti, and both dishes were exceptional. The laksa was rich, fragrant, and packed with flavour, while the beef rendang was melt-in-the-mouth tender with a deeply aromatic sauce. The roti was light, flaky, and perfect for mopping up every last bit. A small heads-up: they prefer cash payments, though they were happy to accept a bank transfer. It's all part of the charm of this authentic, no-frills spot. If you're lucky enough to get a reservation, you're in for a memorable meal."
