Opium Barcelona Restaurant and Club

3.5 (8,743)$$$ · Expensive

Opium sits right on the Passeig Marítim, combining a dinner restaurant with a nightclub that fills up after 1am with an international crowd drawn to its lighting, sound, and beachfront setting. It leans firmly into the city's glossy, see-and-be-seen club scene rather than any specifically local or underground identity. Reviews point to a strong start to the night that becomes considerably more packed and less comfortable as the dance floor fills. It's a reliable pick for travelers wanting a big, polished club night by the water rather than an intimate or alternative experience.

💡 Good to know

  • 1Reserve a table or arrive early for dinner if you want to avoid the after-1am crush
  • 2expect premium prices on drinks and shisha
  • 3book ahead since it gets busy on weekend nights.

What people say

"It's a great place for a drink (if I remember correctly, shots are around €5-7, sangria is €50 for a stronger 1.5l version) or a hookah. It's also good for food, although we only tried a few items. However, the disco gets so crowded that you can't move around the place. The toilets are out of the question (queues all the way to the dance floor). Would I visit again? Yes. Did I like the atmosphere? Yes. Would I recommend a visit? Yes."
