Trattoria Da Cesare al Casaletto

4.4 (2,704)$$$ · Expensive

Trattoria Da Cesare al Casaletto sits a little further from central Rome's main sights, which reviewers say only adds to its appeal as a genuinely local, unpretentious trattoria experience. The oxtail pasta comes up again and again as a highlight, with tender meat and a well-balanced sauce that more than one visitor calls the best pasta of their entire trip to Rome. At 4.4 from over 2,700 reviews, expensive pricing, and a strong local score, it rewards travellers willing to venture slightly off the beaten path for a meal that feels distinctly Roman rather than tailored for tourists. It suits a relaxed lunch or dinner for those wanting an authentic neighbourhood trattoria atmosphere.

What people say

"The oxtail pasta that my wife and I both got were heavenly and the best pasta I had in Rome. The meat was very tender and the sauce was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Their homemade ice cream and tiramisu were also delicious. I’ll be thinking about this meal for a very long time. Only downside was that their was no A/C inside so we sat outside, and it was pretty hot even though we were in the shade."
