"Not a lot of hidden gems around London. Phoenix Garden just might be one of them. This is a small, peaceful wildlife sanctuary and garden right in the heart of the West End, along Stacey Street in the space between St. Giles in the Fields Church behind the Phoenix Theatre. The garden was created in 1984 and is open from 8am to 5pm (weekdays) and 9am to 5pm (weekends). What you find are footpaths and seating benches embedded into nicely landscaped rural setting with plants, trees, shrubs and wildflowers that make one feel like they have stepped out of the city and into the countryside, even if just for a brief moment. It is a neat place to pop in and have a look around and perhaps a rest break while sightseeing in the area."
