Food
Cay Tre has built a loyal following in Soho for pulling from across Vietnam's regional cooking traditions rather than sticking to a narrow, London-standard menu, and reviewers specifically call out the Hanoi-style banh cuon as a standout among the many dishes on offer. Others praise the freshness of herbs and overall flavour balance across the menu, describing it as consistently among the better Vietnamese options in the city. Its 4.1 rating from over 2,400 reviews and mid-range pricing make it a dependable, well-established choice for a satisfying, flavour-packed meal rather than a special-occasion splurge, fitting easily into a lunch break or casual dinner in Soho.

"Fast becoming of my favourite Vietnamese restaurants in London, it features a superb variety of dishes from all regions of Vietnam. The Hanoi style Banh Cuon is a must - the chewy texture and pork filling is very addictive. Since it was a summer day, I opted for the Bun cha which is a refreshing bowl of vermicelli with Chargrilled lemongrass pork shoulder, pork belly meatballs and crispy spring rolls. Although lacking a little in flavour, this is the reason they provide condiments on the table so you can adjust to your taste. I also ordered the Piggy Grilled Aubergine as a side dish which conversely had great flavour. A bustling place with nice decor; I'll certainly be back to try more dishes soon."
