"We visited Alfies Antique Market in London with high expectations, as we are quite knowledgeable about vintage and antique pieces. The building itself is fascinating and the selection is visually impressive at first glance. There are definitely some remarkable finds—especially in furniture, where we saw genuine-looking mid-century and 1970s pieces that immediately catch the eye. However, as we explored further, our experience became more mixed. We encountered several items that raised doubts regarding authenticity and origin. In a few cases, objects were presented as high-end or historically significant pieces, but appeared to us to be reproductions or not consistent with the descriptions provided. This included, for example, decorative silver-style items attributed to well-known makers, which did not seem to match the quality or materials one would expect. Because of this, we found ourselves increasingly cautious and questioning the accuracy of some of the labelling and pricing. It created a sense that not everything on display could be taken at face value. That said, the visit was still interesting from an atmospheric point of view, and there are genuine treasures to be found if one has a very trained eye. But it is not a place where you can browse casually and trust everything immediately.
