SantoPalato

4.3 (1,599)$$$ · Expensive

SantoPalato pushes classic Roman nose-to-tail cooking in a more contemporary direction, and reviewers praise dishes like smoked beef heart and a green bean and tomato salad for genuinely fresh, well-balanced flavours. Reviews of the newer location are more divided, though, with at least one longtime fan feeling the redesigned space leans too polished and impersonal compared to the original, cosier setting, and describing service as more distant. At 4.3 from nearly 1,600 reviews and expensive pricing, it remains a strong option for adventurous eaters wanting modern takes on traditional Roman offal dishes, though it may suit those less attached to old-school trattoria charm better than nostalgic regulars.

What people say

"The food here is absolutely delicious, so fresh tasting, and all the right balance of flavours. I had the smoked beef heart and the green bean and tomato salad and would recommend to try this place if you have the chance. I also feel like the price was very reasonable. Upscale food in quality and flavour with a more relaxed but still very nice and clean atmosphere, as well as friendly staff. Would recommend."
