"Tucked into a cozy corner of Paris, Chez Papa delivered a memorable dining experience that felt both welcoming and distinctly French—perfect for an American traveler with limited French. From the start, the service was exceptionally polite and accommodating, with menus available in both French and English, which made ordering easy and stress-free. We began with the escargots façon Papa, hoping to try something beyond the classic parsley butter version we were used to—and it did not disappoint. The dish arrived piping hot, bathed in a rich tomato cream sauce that was both comforting and flavorful, elevating the escargots into something unique and absolutely delicious. For the main course, the escalope de canard auvergnate was nothing short of extraordinary. Honestly, it was one of the most delicious dishes I’ve ever had. The duck cutlet was perfectly cooked—tender and flavorful—paired with hearty potatoes and a creamy mushroom sauce that brought everything together. Each bite felt indulgent, like the kind of dish you don’t want to end—rich, savory, and deeply satisfying, truly a “heaven in your mouth” experience. We also ordered the burger au Saint-Nectaire, which was equally impressive. The generous layer of melted Saint-Nectaire cheese blanketed the burger beautifully, adding a bold, creamy richness. It was served with garlic butter sautéed potatoes over a fresh salad, making for a perfectly balanced and incredibly tasty plate.
