Trecaffè - Via dei due Macelli

4.7 (7,476)$$ · Mid-range

Trecaffè's Via dei Due Macelli location is one of Rome's most-reviewed coffee spots, with nearly 7,500 reviews and a 4.7 average, thanks to its central position just off the Spanish Steps. The pistachio-topped maritozzo draws particular praise, and reviewers describe full brunch spreads that go well beyond a simple espresso stop, though several also flag it as pricier than a typical Roman bar given its tourist-heavy location. It works best as a mid-morning or brunch stop for those already exploring the shopping streets near Piazza di Spagna.

What people say

"The place itself is nice but it seems like a tourist trap. The prices are high for the quality of food you receive. I know we are in Italy but we have been all around the country for two weeks and the portions were exceptionally small. The cappuccinos were good. The cannoli was good but the croissant and maritozzo were both almost stale. Did not taste fresh at all. The servers and atmosphere were nice. I would not return back again for the food or baked goods, at least."
