Food
KOKUM takes its name from a coastal Indian souring fruit and leans into regional dishes rather than a generic curry-house menu, with reviewers calling out the papad, dahi batata puri, and a well-loved samosa chaat alongside duck and chicken sheekh options. Diners describe unhurried service even during a full sitting, with nobody rushing them out despite a busy room. Its 4.8 rating from 369 reviews and strong local score point to a restaurant beloved by neighbourhood regulars rather than tour groups, making it a good pick for travellers wanting an authentic, non-touristy Indian meal in South London. The mid-range pricing and relaxed lunch-or-dinner slots suit a leisurely meal with time to work through several small plates.

"Absolutely loved this place! We came here for an early dinner on Sunday and had a wonderful time. We ordered the papad, dahi batata puri, duck and chicken sheek kebab, and the amritsari fish fry to start. And the lamb Sunday roast as a main, with an extra peshwari naan. All of the food was fantastic, and we left very full. I think we probably would’ve been fine with three starters and a main, instead of four, but I’m glad we got to try so much! Also the peshwari was delicious and very rich, we shared a peshwari and a plain between two, which I would definitely recommend The service was excellent and everyone was so welcoming. The restaurant itself is spacious and had a patio which would be lovely in the summer. Four starters, a main, and two mocktails, plus service charge came to £91."
