Casa Comalat

Designed by Salvador Valeri i Pupurull and completed in 1911, Casa Comalat is unusual for having two distinct architectural personalities, a wavy, Gaudí-influenced stone facade facing Avinguda Diagonal, and a more colorful, tile-and-timber Art Nouveau rear elevation visible from Carrer de Còrsega. Because it remains a private residential building, interior access is essentially nonexistent, and reviewers consistently note that admiring it from outside, ideally walking around to see both facades, is the extent of the visit. Its relatively low profile compared to Casa Batlló or Casa Milà nearby makes it feel like an insider's find for those who know to look.
