Impala

β˜… 4.7 (210)$$$$ Β· Premium

Impala presents its menu as a full cultural experience rather than just a meal, drawing on Middle Eastern and African culinary traditions with staff reviewers describe as genuinely knowledgeable and engaged in explaining the food's roots. The aish baladi bread served with olive oil and harissa comes up as an early highlight, setting the tone for a meal built around bold, confident spicing. At 4.7 stars and premium pricing, it suits an evening for couples or small groups wanting a dinner that's as much about learning something as it is about eating well. Its relatively small review count paired with strong scores suggests a restaurant still building wider recognition.

✨ Reasons to go

  • 1Chef Meedu Saad, former head chef of Kiln, opened Impala as his debut solo restaurant after five years of planning.
  • 2The restaurant is named after the 1964 Chevrolet Impala the chef used to drive during childhood summers in Egypt.
  • 3Cooking centres on a large charcoal grill and wood-fired oven, drawing on Cairo's grill-restaurant culture combined with Soho's dining scene.
